ULS - a place for You

Local transportation

Hotels and hostels reserved for the conference are located approximately 20 - 30 minutes from the conference location at the University of Lower Silesia and from the city center.

TRAVEL FROM WROCŁAW AIRPORT TO THE CITY CENTER:

The city center is relatively close to the Wrocław airport - approx. 12km; 30 minute drive. You can take a taxi from the airport or use public transportation (local buses and/or trams).

·         Traveling from the airport by taxi: There is a taxi stand at the airport. Taxi prices will vary depending on the driver, but the taxi to the city center should not cost more than 50 - 60 zloty. Although it is unlikely that the official taxis at public stands would ask for more than 60 zloty, we recommend agree on the price prior to taking the taxi. Do not take a “private” taxi that is not clearly marked (with a company name and phone number) as these can be more expensive.

·         Traveling from the airport by public transportation: Getting to the city center by bus and/or tram will take you approximately one hour. You will need to get to the city center (the train station) and then take a tram to your hotel.

1. Take the #406 bus from the airport to the train station. The bus leaves the airport every 20-30 mins; it is about a 30-minute ride. The stop is called either Dworcowa or Dworzec Główny PKP, and it is the last bus stop.

From the stop you can either walk or take a tram to your hotel/ hostel. Please refer to wroclaw.jakdojade.pl – very useful website to find the best tram connection.

The bus/ tram ticket ("Bilet" in Polish) can be purchased at a ticket machine at the bus/ tram stop by cash or credit card. On the bus/ tram you can buy tickets only by credit card.

Bus/tram ticket prices:

SINGLE PASS – 3.00 ZLOTY

60-MIN PASS – 4.40 ZLOTY

90-MIN PASS – 6.00 ZLOTY

24-HOUR PASS – 11 ZLOTY

To travel from the airport to the city center we recommend buying a 60-min pass. If you have an ISIC student card, you can get a discounted student ticket.

Traveling from the train station by taxi: You can take a taxi from the train station to the city center. It is approximately 4.5km – about a 10 minute drive. The taxi should not cost more than 30 zloty. We suggest that you try to establish the price before you start the ride.
