Life in Schools

The conference will be accompanied by the publication of the Polish translation of the book, Life in Schools: An Introduction to Critical Pedagogy in the Foundations of Education, by Peter McLaren, translated into Polish by Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk and Jan Dzierzgowski and published by the University of Lower Silesia Academic Press.

Life in Schools, which is now in its sixth edition in US (Paradigm), is a highly acclaimed pedagogical text, offering a critical insight into everyday classroom practices and a unique introduction to the field of critical educational theory that author describes as revolutionary critical pedagogy.

In 2003 Life in Schools has been named one of the 12 most significant writings by foreign authors in the field of educational theory, policy and practice by the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, alongside books of such authors as Paulo Freire, Jerome Bruner, Pierre Bourdieu and and Basil Bernstein.
